Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 3, 2026

This Policy describes how Finfin handles information when you use our portfolio research tools, including account viewing, optional notices, and P&L reporting.

Overview

Finfin (“Finfin,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides independent investing research software that lets you view brokerage accounts, orders, balances, and positions; receive optional status notices you configure; and review trade history and profit and loss (P&L).

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Finfin, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account or request access, we may collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials.

Brokerage connection data. If you link a brokerage account through a supported OAuth or API integration, we receive account identifiers and portfolio data such as balances, positions, orders, and trade history that the brokerage authorizes us to access. We do not receive your brokerage password when OAuth is used.

Usage and device data. We may collect log data, device type, browser type, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, pages viewed, and interaction events to operate, secure, and improve the service.

Communications. If you contact us, we keep the content of those messages and related metadata.

How we use information

Provide core product features: displaying accounts, orders, balances, and positions; optional status notices you configure; and trade history and P&L reporting.

Authenticate users, maintain sessions, and protect against fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.

Improve reliability, performance, and usability of the product.

Send service-related notices (for example, security alerts, material changes to terms, or product updates you opt into).

Comply with law and enforce our agreements.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information.

Service providers. We may share information with vendors who process data on our behalf (for example hosting, analytics, email, or error monitoring), under confidentiality and processing obligations.

Brokerages and integrations. Data flows to and from brokerages you choose to connect, subject to their terms and the permissions you grant.

Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Finfin, our users, or others.

Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.

Retention

We retain information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal, tax, or accounting requirements. You may request deletion as described below; some records may be retained where we are legally required to keep them.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information, including encryption in transit where supported and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You may disconnect a brokerage integration at any time from your account settings (or by contacting us).

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email us at the address below. We may need to verify your request.

You can opt out of non-essential product emails using the unsubscribe link in those messages. Transactional and security messages may still be sent.

Children

Finfin is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

International users

If you access Finfin from outside the United States, you understand that information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our providers operate, which may have different data-protection rules than your jurisdiction.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised Policy with an updated “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated by email or in-product notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
